Project Update

The construction fence has come down and the Trager MicroForest is open for business!

While some minor work will continue, the Trager MicroForest at Founders Square is officially open to the public. Over the next couple weeks, Full Care will still be on-site occasionally to finish up planting a handful of trees, add a bit more lighting, and compact the walking path a bit more. After this is all complete, we will be holding a public opening event on May 13th. There will be food trucks, music, tree giveaways, and more!

You may notice some straw and landscape fencing around the microforest. Those areas were recently planted with some grass seeding, so we are making sure they are protected while the grass gets established.

With major construction work complete, construction-centric updates will be winding down soon. Updates will still be posted on any developments, research, and events related to the microforest, though. It is also worth remembering that this is phase one of the project. Phase two requires additional fundraising, but it will focus on the edges of the park. This may include the addition of more seating, edging, bulb-outs, and a small structure.

See you in the microforest!
