Greenprint is a 10-year, community led initiative that seeks to transform downtown into a healthier and greener environment using a novel evidence-based approach. The project is based on deep collaboration between public and private organizations such as , developers, nonprofits, property owners, Metro government and others. We will be conducting research on environmental conditions, health outcomes, and greening methodology across our urban study area. Greenprint will deliver a scientifically supported model of urban greening that can be utilized by cities across the country.
On August 20th, the James Graham Brown Foundation convened the initial project partners to sign the charter for the Greenprint initiative. The press event was hosted at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, in front of the Romano L. Mazzoli Federal Building. In Mayor Craig Greenberg’s remarks, he shared his excitement for the new initiative. The full press event was recorded by MetroTV and can be found here/below.
