On May 21, 2024, renowned urban planner and author Jeff Speck shared his insights on reimagining downtown Louisville through the lens of walkability and why fostering a pedestrian-friendly environment is imperative for our city to flourish.

Thanks to everyone who attended the event and for everyone involved in making it possible. Special thanks to MetroTV for recording the Jeff's talk which you can watch in its entirety below.

While Jeff was in town we had a chance to tour downtown and some adjacent neighborhoods to see the existing conditions, what areas need help and some of the good work that has been done with street calming along Bardstown Road and the reconfiguration of Lexington Road to name a few.

We are looking forward to advancing the ideas that Jeff presented and hope this will only be the first of his visits to Louisville as we work to make downtown more vibrant by making it more walkable.
